Hofstede Oostrijk, where nature and culture meet!
An attractive outdoor place at a unique location with a hospitable Farmers Bed & Breakfast. Situated in the country of the Old South Polder of Delfgauw (close to the historical city Delft) it was a large milk cattle company that provided the city Delft and its surrounding areas with milk butter and cheese for centuries. Since 1983 the Hofstede is being used as a stud farm, pension and rehabilitation stable as well as a training centre for natural horsemanship. They have also created a hospitable Farmers Bed & Breakfast there.
Do you also want to sleep in a spacious bed box (again), in a cozy "Farmers girls room"? Or maybe you would prefer to sleep in "Pipos Dream Trailer"? It is all possible at Hofstede Oostrijk! In our spacious yard you can enjoy the horses, cats, chicken, sheep and other animals. To get to know our horses better is also one of the possibilities as well as a tour with horse and wagon to the city Delft or through the polder. Nature and culture within reach.
Are you interested in nature development and the life of the pasture birds? Then you can enjoy a lovely hike (possibly with picnic) through our lovely polder and watch the birds at our newly created peat pond. Nature areas such as the "Ackersdijkse" ponds and the "Delftse Hout" are in walking distance. But biking or sailing through the beautiful "Mid-Delfland" area with its century old farms is also worth your wile.
Situated locally near the historical city Delft it is a nice location for a weekend away. The atmospheric canals, the many dining possibilities, the museums, theaters and nightlife have something to offer for everybody. Within a radius of 10 km you will also find Rotterdam with tours through the ports and the zoo, Den Haag with its many shops, theaters and museums. Scheveningen with the beach, the port, Sealife and the Circus Theater offer many possibilities for a nice vacation or midweek. We would love to see you here!
